The challenge of giving voices to written characters who have lived in the imaginations of their audience for decades is not one for the faint-hearted. Yet that is precisely the gauntlet Square Enix chose to take up when development began on FINAL FANTASY TACTICS™ – The Ivalice Chronicles. Being a faithful remake of a game lauded by some as the greatest of all time, legions of fans had spent almost thirty years imagining exactly how its protagonists would deliver their lines before the new game’s unsuspecting cast members had so much as cleared their throats. Good luck to whoever’s directing that, we thought. And then our friends at Liquid Violet invited us to do it.

The fact that we jumped at the chance, and that Square Enix duly gave us their blessing, is testament to three things: first, our incurable love for a challenge; second, the longstanding bond of trust between us and the developer; and third, our truly excellent availability.

The months that followed were some of the most fulfilling of our careers, and we would like to thank Tom Mills (Square Enix), Chris Hopkins (Liquid Violet), and our brilliant cast for making the process such a delight. As for whether we did justice to the Ramzas and Delitas of our collective imaginings…well, we certainly tried, and really, only you can say for sure.
